Scrambling Progression: The Pathway to Rock Climbing
Course Details:
Once you’ve done a few grade 3 scrambles the logical next step is rock climbing! You’ll probably already have some of the skills required but actual graded rock climbing is definitely more serious. Once you know some basic rock climbing techniques you’ll be able to safely tackle the climbs. The course is bespoke and actual content depends on prior experience. It’s basically very similar to our learn to lead trad course; we’re aiming to cover fundamental techniques including:
- Understanding trad grades
- Interpreting guidebooks
- Belaying a leader
- Placing trad gear
- Building belays
- Abseil descents
